As a coach's wife, I've seen firsthand the dedication that goes into a season, whether it's summer leagues wrapping up or school leagues just kicking off. All that hard work from the team players and their families definitely deserves some recognition. That's why a post-season team party, complete with great food and a thoughtful gift basket, is the perfect way to cap it all off. It's a chance for everyone to relax, connect, and celebrate those awesome memories made throughout the season. Stick around for some simple and budget-friendly ideas for your next team bash and gift baskets!

Oh, and for those of you in the Kansas City, MO, and KS areas, there's a fantastic opportunity! Tony's Pizza is hosting a Facebook sweepstakes campaign right now, all about community and, of course, delicious pizza. One lucky team can win a $10,000 donation! You'll find all the details at the end of this post.

The Team Party and Food

Keeping party costs down is always a win, so I love getting creative with DIY decorations. For our recent team celebration, I grabbed some brown paper bags, trimmed the tops, and used them to hold peanuts and popcorn. A little white-out correction fluid transformed them into mini footballs with laces. I even used the leftover paper to craft more footballs and strung them up as a festive garland.

To set the scene, I decorated a poster board for a fun backdrop and used a green tablecloth to give the feel of a football field.

When it came to food, I kept it super simple. Let's be honest, everyone's usually just excited for pizza and snacks!

Instead of the hassle of ordering takeout, Tony's Pizza is always my go-to. It's not only incredibly affordable but also seriously delicious. Plus, it's a local company with roots right here in Missouri and Kansas, starting as a pizzeria back in 1960 in Salina, KS. They've been serving up those layers of light, crispy crust, topped with a sauce made from real, fresh tomatoes, 100% mozzarella, and all your favorite savory toppings for ages.

Instead of ordering and carrying out, Tony's Pizza is a great, affordable choice! The pizza is delicious, and it's a local company that started in my home state, Missouri, and sibling state, Kansas. Tony's began as a pizzeria in 1960, located in Salina, KS, proudly serving community members layers of light, crispy crust topped with a sauce made from real, fresh tomatoes, 100% real mozzarella cheese, and your favorite savory toppings.

Tony's offers a great variety of toppings. Our personal favorites are the Tony's® Pizzeria Style Pepperoni Pizza, Tony's® Pizzeria Style Cheese Pizza, and Tony's® Pizzeria Style Supreme Pizza. You can easily find Tony's in the freezer aisle at your local Walmart.

For snacks, we kept it classic with popcorn and peanuts—total game-day staples—and, of course, cupcakes because what's a party without a little something sweet?

The Gift Baskets

When putting together gift baskets for a whole team, keeping costs low is key, especially since you'll likely have a few families pitching in.

  2. I love your styling of this party! It's a really practical and totally doable way to make sports party kind of chic and fresh. I may do something like this for the beginning of the season and have our closest friends with kids over. Thanks for sharing all of your creativity!

  4. Themed parties are the best but I always go overboard and end up spending too much money so I steer away from them now. But you did a great job and didn't spend a ton of money

    1. LOL! I don't recall ever receiving gift bags when I played sports either. I've heard that millennial parents are a tad bit extra lol. Thanks for stopping by CJ!

  12. Great way to earn money for your child's athletics team. I know how hard it is to sell those popcorn tins and cookies to pay refs, buy uniforms, and travel to play other teams.
